Site Accessibility for Individuals with Disabilities

This website complies with Section 508 Accessibility Guidelines as outlined in the 1998 amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Section 508 was enacted to eliminate barriers in information technology, to make available new opportunities for people with disabilities and to encourage development of technologies that will help achieve these goals. Simply put, this means that everyone can access the same information in a presentation that best suits his or her needs.

Some examples of Section 508 compliance:

  • All images have a text equivalent (“alt” tags describing the visual).
  • All pages have a plain text version with the same information.
  • Text sizes are relative and may be enlarged or reduced.
  • Links include titles so the target may be identified before clicking.
  • This site is not dependent on JavaScript and pages function with JavaScript turned off.
