Medical Specialties + Roles

Medical Specialties + Roles

Military medical specialties are not restricted to the war zone or the front line. In fact, all branches have a very real need for varied medical specialties at home and on base, such as family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and dermatology.

It’s this incredible variety of roles and specialties that often make the choice to become a military physician a rewarding one. As just one example, an Air Force flight surgeon would not only be responsible for the health of a squadron, but they also get to fly on a regular basis. Or, you could take the academic route and research specific diseases or teach military medical school students.
